creates a soft moist gel as alginate fibers are absorbed. also blocks lateral wicking of exudates, reducing the risk of maceration. the soft moist gel does not adhere to wound sites, thus reducing trauma and pain during wear and dressing change. gel can easily be removed by irrigating with normal saline. use for moderately to heavily exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, donor sites, post-op wounds, dermal lesions, and other traumatic wounds. latex free.
