designed to aid and prevent deep vein thrombosis in the recumbent patient withlimited mobility. progressive compression from foot to knee aids in improving venous return and avoidingclot formation. the open heel design helps to prevent pressure ulcers on the heel caused by the additional 15-18mm of hg pressure on the heel by compression stockings. the dvt hose allow for easy visualization and palpationof the heel at all times. length measuremetns; knee - floor to just below knee crease. thigh - floor to fullest part ofthigh. ankle circumference is around the smallest part of the ankle. calf circumference is taken at the fullest part ofthe calf. thigh circumferenc is taken for thigh highs only and taken around the fullest part of thigh.
